Monday, Monday
Monday, Monday. Can’t trust that day. My apologies to The Mommas andthe Pappas.
Back to work after a fairly icky weekend. Nothing Really wrong with it just not great. It starts, of course, with the fact that I did not go hiking. Mrs. Geek and I got off on the wrong foot Saturday. Of course we patched it all up, but no fun.
Saturday, we were supposed to go to a “Bye Week” Party. Our neighbor across the street was throwing it. They celebrate the Ravens bye week because he is involved with producing the Ravens Radio Broadcast and the Bye Week means a weekend off. I was actually looking forward to it. I’m not much for social gatherings.
—- Now stop that. Its not nice to sit there and assume just because a guy is a self described geek and spends lots of time on the Internet that he sucks at social events. OK, in this case its true, but its still not nice. —-
I thought it would be cool to go to a party that had people who worked in radio and with the Ravens. I thought maybe I’d even do some networking, they must use a lot of computers for that stuff.
I didn’t get to talk to Steve (the Radio Guy) at all because one of the other guests there was some long lost friend he hadn’t seen in years and they were playing catching up and remember when. All the other guest were ladies. Our hostess quickly gathered the women for girl talk or whatever in kitchen. Any way this left me and the kids left kinda with no one to play with. Mrs. Geek got a work phone call after we’d been there about an hour and a half, so we used that as an excuse to split. Very disappointing.
Sunday was a wasted day, in an OK kinda way. With no Ravens game to watch our usual Sunday routine was thrown out of whack. So of course, I spent most of the day reading blogs and checking out Blog Explosion. But I don’t have to explain that to you do I?
I’ve survived the day and am watching (with one eye) Monday Night Football. If my fantasy team is going to have a chance to win, Bulger is going to have to start making some plays.
